Sara, our senior physiotherapist, studied at Salford University and has been a chartered physio for over 23 years. She has worked as a senior clinician in a number of hospitals, both NHS and private. As well as treating clients, Sara now oversees the training and professional development of all the physio's on the team and assists with particularly difficult cases and conditions. She recently became a member of the International Fascia Research Society and has spent a lot of effort and time studying fascia, a type of connective tissue that is an integral part of our structure and biomechanics. Outside running the clinic, she is the mother of two teenagers, loves reading, playing and spending time outdoors either cycling or weekend walks with the family.
Matt, the practice manager, is also a qualified hypnotherapist and mindfulness coach and shares his time between managing the business and seeing his clients. He is passionate about the therapy work he does and finds great satisfaction helping others make changes to their lives. Before setting up the clinic with Sara he studied Microbiology at Manchester Uni and then went on to work as a minister of a church. He is an avid motorsport fan and can often be found working on his 1986 Renault Alpine sports car (which needs working on regularly!) and occasionally driving it too, especially during the warmer months and particularly when pestered to do so by the kids who love to come along for the ride.
Sue is the practice administrator in Abbots Ripton and will, most likely, be the person you speak when you call. Sue is a local resident of Abbots Ripton and mum of two. She is responsible for keeping many aspects of the practice running smoothly and ensuring the clinic is as clean, tidy and inviting as ever. You'll be assured of a warm welcome and friendly smile when you arrive.
Christy is our finance administrator and is currently studying to gain professional qualifications in book keeping and has already completed level one and two. As well as being a busy Mum, she is a keen animal lover and has a number of pets. Christy also spends many a weekend training her dogs for agility competitions - often coming away with the top prizes.
Mahala spent most of her early years as a dancer and completed a degree in Performing Arts Dance at LIPA. Before qualifying as a Physiotherapist, she worked for nine years in a London clinic as a Sports Massage Therapist and integrates her skills and experience from that into her physiotherapy practice. She is also a qualified Pilates and Tai Chi instructor and loves taking a number of classes at the clinic. Mahala enjoys ballet as a hobby, is a keen piano player, and enjoys meeting up with family and friends at the weekends.
Edwina is a practice administrator in Abbots Ripton. Alongside Sue she is responsible for keeping the clinic running smoothly and warmly welcoming clients. She plays GS in Netball, a position she has been playing in for over 20 years, and currently plays for two different teams. Edwina is a busy mum of one who loves spending time with her family and friends. When the opportunity arises Edwina is a keen traveller to warmer climes as the beach is one of her favourite places. Edwina is currently studying to become a fully qualified counsellor (which we think she will be brilliant at) and enjoys chatting with people. In her spare time she loves to read and watch films.
