Physiotherapy... it's one of the "caring professions"
We believe the most important word in our brand name is "CARE" and not necessarily "PHYSIO". That may sound a little odd, especially as we are a physio clinic but, as with all medical services, the process of healing is facilitated by the client being and feeling cared for. It is our aim to deliver not only the best treatment techniques and modalities but to do it in a caring way. We think you will notice the difference that this approach makes.
When you're in pain and facing the distress and inconvenience that accompanies it, you require solutions. This is where physiotherapy can help.
Our Huntingdon physiotherapists provide the effective treatment, clear guidance and care you need. Whether you're injury originates from sport, gardening, the office or just wear and tear, our professional and friendly team of experienced physiotherapists are committed to helping you return to full function as quickly as possible and remain there.
We pride ourselves on our warm welcome (a nice cup of tea or quality coffee for all) and pleasant venues. Our aim is to make this the best place to receive physiotherapy in Cambridgeshire.

Our wonderful team
Our story
Cambridgeshire Sports Physio and Back Care began back in 2004 when Matt and Sara moved, with their two small children, to a lovely cottage in Abbots Ripton. Back then, Sara was the sole physiotherapist, the treatment room was located in the front room of the cottage and the waiting room was the lounge. It was an exciting time for us and we remain very grateful for the support we received from the community, especially that of Lord and Lady De Ramsey and their team at the Estate.
Many clients still remember the days when Matt and Sara’s son (five years old at the time) would answer the door, politely invite them in and guide them to the waiting area (all under the watchful eye of the parents, of course). While sitting in the waiting room (lounge), a regular might be greeted by their two year old daughter, who may hand them one of her favourite books and cutely demand they read it to her... now...please!
In 2006 we moved the operation from the home into a business unit literally next door (we never did like commuting). Sara had become overly busy with clients and we needed more help. With two more treatment rooms, we were able to take on our first employee, Katie, another fantastic physiotherapist who has gone on to complete a PhD and now runs her own clinic. 2006 was also the year when Matt qualified as a hypnotherapist and has since trained as a Mindfulness coach and Counsellor. Since that time, we have expanded our team of physiotherapists and have continually built up our knowledge and expertise, ensuring the treatment we offer is based on the latest research.
It is now our aim to offer way more than just physiotherapy. We now have a podiatrist onsite, a reflexologist and will add other forms of holistic therapy to our services. We believe true wellbeing consists not only in looking after the body (physio, sports massage and podiatry) but also in investing in mental health care (Psychotherapy, Counselling, Mindfulness, Reflexology etc).
We believe the early family feel of the clinic, which we have worked hard to maintain, is one of the keys to our success. We make it our aim to ensure the only pain a person feels during their visit to the clinic is related to their physical injury. We do our best to make every visit an experience that will leave the client feeling not only physically better, thanks to the excellent treatment, but cared for and lifted emotionally too.
If you have any questions about your injury or concerns about your health that you think we could help with, please feel free to email or call us.

Our ethos:
When you leave the clinic, having had your physiotherapy appointment, your counselling appointment, sports masage etc. it is our aim that the experience of visiting us will have been one that leaves you feeling better, not just physically, but feeling better on the whole. We want the entire experience of visiting the clinic to feel good.
The welcome from our admin team will be warm and friendly, the complementary coffee or tea of a standard you would pay for, the waiting room clean and tidy with interesting and current magazines to read.
The physiotherapists and other members of the team are polite, professional and friendly. On your first visit they will listen to your explanation of what is wrong, asking questions to get more details. Then they will then examine you and finally treat you, explaining throughout what they think the problem is. They will explain their treatment plan and give you exercises and stretches (via an app or a printed sheet if you prefer) to complete at home before the next session.
Follow-up sessions consist of a discussion about progress and more treatment. Our physiotherapists are experienced but continue to gain regular training through various courses and through in-house training. Our Counsellors, Coaches, Reflexologists and Sports Massage therapists are held to the highest professional standards and ethics.
Our aim is to get you back to pain-free, full function and feeling better overall as quickly as possible. If it becomes clear that physiotherapy or any of the other therapies we offer are not getting you back to full health (which is rare), we will refer you on to other experts.
Overall, we want you to feel thoroughly looked after and cared for.
