Frailty Prevention Frailty is described as a syndrome (medical speak for a condition that has a number of factors).
It is currently of great interest to health services as the percentage of the population that is over 60 years of age is on the increase. Of the many challenges that frailty brings, losing one's independence, and eventually, ones dignity are challenges that I personally want to stave off for as long as possible. A lot of great minds, including dedicated scientists, committed medics and concerned groups are involved in figuring out the ‘Whats, Whys and Hows’ of frailty, especially when it comes to preventing it.
Over the next couple of months, the team at Cambridgeshire Sports Physio and Back Care will be putting together a comprehensive programme, aimed at helping you to maintain your physical vitality into your 60s, 70s, 80s and beyond. It will be based on the latest research and will address a number of health parameters involved in the onset of frailty. These health matters fall squarely within the expertise of physiotherapy - areas such as pain management, fall prevention and healthy movement and functionality.
Our team of physiotherapists will be offering free talks, packed with useful information and tips, that all members of the public are welcome to attend. We hope to be able to make a notable difference to the quality of lives of our clients and friends in Cambridge and Huntingdon.
